It’s the time of year when we’re starting to see more of the sun and the outside temperature’s getting ever so slightly warmer. It’s therefore the time of year when we start looking ahead to our summer holiday. Where to go this year? Somewhere new, far-flung and more exotic? Why not take a trip to Burma, now known as Myanmar? Myanmar is now welcoming tourists with open arms, and for tourists making the trip, you’re guaranteed a holiday like no other. One of the best ways to see the natural beauties of Burma is to travel across it by bike. If you’re up for a more active holiday then seeing Burma by bike comes highly recommended by our team. You can cycle and discover all that Myanmar has to offer. You can witness the colonial glory of Yangon, you can explore the daily lives of the local people who live around the Inle Lake, you can visit the Golden Rock, and you can explore the ancient Bagan, and much more.

Day 1: Yangon – Kyaikhto – Kyaik Htee Saung – Ancient City Wall – Golden Rock ( L , D )

After breakfast at your hotel(around 07:00 am), the car and our truck loaded with the Mountain Bikes will pick you up to start the taste of our A Little Bit of Adventure. It takes about 4 hours to reach Kyaikhto town where you start your biking tour to Kyaik Htee Saung pagoda.

From the main road, ready on your bike and equipped, turn to the rice fields to start the Unspoiled Biking Route to Kyaik Htee Saung Village. The scenes all the way to the Village relax you bit and piece and you never feel tired. Passing by the Mon Villages, you will arrive at the foot of Kaylartha Hill(The history and excavations strongly prove that on the other side of the foot of that hill lies the Thuwuuna Bhumi Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Gold!). Optionally, you can do hiking up Kaylartha Hill for the awesome views of the Mataban Sea and Bay.

Afterward, continue your ride to the Ancient City Wall which is believed to be constructed in the 11th Century. Take a look at the mythical figures carved on the walls and take photos. Then, you can pay a visit to Kyaik Htee Saung Pagoda.

Then, head to Kinpun Base Camp, and then from there take the open truck to Golden Rock. Enjoy the marvel of the situation of the Rock and view the evening activities of many Myanmar Buddhist pilgrims.

Overnight at Golden Rock

Day 2: Golden Rock – Bago – Yangon( B, L  )

After breakfast, transfer back to Kimpun Base camp, and then from there, drive back to Kyaik Hto. If you are a market lover, you can pay a visit to Kyaik Hto morning market. Explore inside the markets and ask your tour guide how Myanmar meals are cooked.

Then, continue your drive to Bago. Upon arrival at Bago, visit Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda, the biggest and tallest Pagoda in Southern Myanmar, Bago Central Market, Shwe Thar Lyaung(Reclining Buddha) which dates back to centuries and which has an astounding history of its recovery from the bushes, and finally on the way to Yangon, visit the Kyaik Pun pagoda with four Giant Buddhas sitting in back-to-back position. Then drive on to Yangon. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in.
